Start: The Letter

I've seen Aunt Elisa's letter, but I don't know where to begin!

Let's just start with the numbers. Where else are there numbers in the library? Then follow the instructions.

Next

Maybe look along the walls?

Solution

Start at each identified shelf, and follow the arrow directions to find the shelf with the puzzles. Stacked arrows indicate moving in the direction that many times. You have now identified all 6 shelves needed.

The Keys

Check each key picture for hints to their puzzles.
Where do I start with these blobs?

Colours, letters, numbers all matter in this puzzle.

Next

The colours, in order from left to right are: GREEN, PINK, ORANGE and BLUE.

Next

You are solving for a 4-letter word.

Solution

The number of each coloured blob indicates which letter of their name is relevant. I.E. there are two pink blobs, indicating the relevant letter is the second letter of "pink", that is, "I". And so forth. When you have worked out the other colours, rearrange them to form the word "NINE".

I found the key but I don't understand what to do with all these beads.

You should take a closer look at the letters tied onto the strings, and the other books on the shelf. Don't forget to look closely at the bookmark itself too.

I don't get the bookmark. Isn't it just soup?

Look closer at the image. Have you seen this elsewhere in the library, and is this somewhat different...?

Solution

The letters on the strings say "Whisk" and "W??D?R". There is a game book on the shelf titled "Whisk & Wonder". Fill in the blanks to form the word "ONE". The pot on the bookmark has some letters replaced by numbers. When you find the missing letters and put them in the right order, it reads "HEART".

The postcard is just words.

And where else can you find words...?

Then how do I know which word is important?

Look over the relevant book carefully!

Solution

Refer to the browsing copy of Club Cotango, as marked by the sticker on the postcard. The book itself has a label with the three relevant numbers. When you use the numbers on the sticker with the "page", "line" and "word", you find the word "FIVE".

I don't understand what to do with all these letters!

You'll need to find all of them first, but don't worry, you already know which shelves to look on. There are 6 sets.

Next

The letters form a message, and you do not need to rearrange the letters on each sticker. The first word in this message is LOOK.

Solution

On each of the 6 shelves indicated in Auntie Elisa's letter is a book with similar labels. Put the books together to form a message. LOOK ABOVE SHELF ONE FIVE FOUR AND ONE SIX OH.

The Book

I found the book! But how do I...

Didn't you find some numbers earlier?

Next

They each relate to a certain shape!

Solution

The number to open the lock is 519.

I don't understand what I found inside...

The riddle is straightforward. Where would "little readers" be? As for the object... just hold on to it first.

I think I'm in the right corner, but I don't see what the riddle wants me to find.

They're on a shelf! Look around that corner a bit more. The box you want is red.

Solution

The shelf you want is #22.

The Note and Beyond

I read the note but I don't know what to do with it.

The symbol in the corner sure looks a little suspicious.

Next

How about that object from earlier?

Solution

Align the markings on the object to the squiggles, then read in the direction of the arrow. You should see 113. Off you go!

What is up with this suspicious box...?

That symbol on the drawer looks a little suspicious...

Solution

Put the object on the symbol, and gently open the drawer. Congratulations, you've found the manuscript!
